I became drawn to the process of collage as a means to capture the urban landscape. This process emphasised key elements of texture, line, geometry, colour, shape, and rhythm, dismantling and reassembling materials such as drawings, mono-prints, screen prints, and card paper.

This directional series adopts an illustrated and graphic design approach, creating an abstract visual language that guides the viewer through an exploration of familiar yet fragmented landscapes.

The influences behind my work include the textures and grid compositions of Glasgow’s concrete jungle, from the gestural markings of graffiti, road signs and markings, torn posters, to flat tiles, as well as the city’s post-industrial landmarks.
